Parbold resident Jean celebrates her 100th birthday in style

Mrs Jean Hardon, a much-loved resident at Fairhaven’s Beacon Crossing in Parbold, has marked her 100th birthday with not one, but two special celebrations.

Jean enjoyed a birthday lunch with friends at Beacon Crossing, where she was showered with flowers, cards, sweet treats, and warm wishes. Earlier in the week, members of Parbold Women’s Institute also surprised her with a party in her honour.

Among the many gifts she received was a card from King Charles III and Queen Camilla, a tradition for all UK centenarians.

Originally from Bradford, Jean later made Parbold her home. A former Rambler, she attributes her longevity to “lots of walking and exercise.”

Speaking at the event, Andrew Atkinson, Fairhaven’s managing director, said:

“It’s truly an honour to be together here today, celebrating the fantastic milestone of our Jean turning 100 years old.

“Here’s to Jean’s 100 wonderful years – and to many more happy, healthy days ahead!”

Jean’s milestone has been a source of great joy for both Beacon Crossing residents and the wider Parbold community, who joined together to make her centenary truly memorable.
