The Pickerings is unique in the fact that the site is centred on the conversion of a Grade II listed Farmhouse and Barn which have been beautifully restored.
The original Farmhouse is believed to be 17th century or possibly earlier and was extended in the late 18th century with the addition of a second dwelling. The farmhouse is converted into two properties and the barn houses four self-contained apartments which offer charm and character.
The site has a further nine townhouses which were built in the late 1980s and the properties are set within attractive, well maintained gardens. There is a private car park for the benefit of residents and their visitors.
The Pickerings is situated close to shops including two major supermarkets, three social clubs and other local amenities.

Lostock Hall is a suburban village which his located south of the River Ribble between Penwortham and Bamber Bridge.
The name Lostock Hall traces its origins to James de Lostock who in 1212 built Lostock’s Hall in the then rural area, as the settlement expanded out from Lostock’s Hall the name was retained. It encompassed the Tardy Gate, then a separate settlement which used to link the farming of one part of rural Lancashire with another.
The then Lostock’s Hall was destroyed by fire but in the 18th century some of the original brickwork was retained to form a new building on the original site.
Lostock Hall is a now a busy suburban community which enjoys excellent connectivity to both Preston and Leyland. In terms of transport links Lostock Hall benefits from a local train station and is bordered on its south eastern side by the interchange for the M6, M61 and M65 motorways.
