Local area
The village of Hoghton can boast a rich heritage, the heart of which is Hoghton Tower which is a fortified manor house that was built 12th century and has been the ancestral home to the de Hoghton family since.
There are local tales of King James I knighting the loin of beef in 1617 and claims that the Boars Head pub was one of the final overnight stops of the Pendle Witches before their trails and sentencing in Lancaster in 1612.
The wider village area benefits from four public houses and convenience stores as well as the local farmers market which is held at Hoghton Tower once a month.
The village also enjoys close access to junction 3 of the M65.
