A decade at Fairhaven: celebrating 10 years in a community that feels like home

Fairhaven is proud to celebrate two 10-year work anniversaries of their dedicated staff. Philip Birtwistle, the Scheme Manager over at Candlemakers’ Court in Clitheroe, and Dave Maguire, our Maintenance Lead across all sites, have been key Fairhaven staff members for a decade.

Both Phillip and Dave are committed team members who are deeply valued by both colleagues and residents alike. Their dedication helps Fairhaven to provide first-class retirement communities across Lancashire.

Fairhaven is a great place to work

Fairhaven’s Managing Director, Andy Atkinson, was delighted to present them with their Long Service Awards and a gift in recognition of their loyalty and hard work.

Phillip Birtwistle from Candlemakers’ Court said:

“Ten years is my longest time in any single job, and I hope to continue for another ten with the lovely residents here at Candlemakers’ Court.  The staff of Fairhaven have a fantastic relationship, where we all work together towards a common goal – the happiness of the residents.”

Dave Maguire, Maintenance Lead for Fairhaven, said:

“I’ve never once woken up and felt like I was just going to work. Being at Fairhaven feels like being part of a family.

“In every other job I’ve had, there’s always been that feeling of ‘going to work’, but I’ve never felt that once here, not even on the busiest days. Even if I’m out in the rain, I’m still whistling, still laughing. It sounds mad, but I genuinely love being here.”

Andy Atkinson, managing director of Fairhaven, said:

“As a business, we are extremely proud of the commitment, dedication and longevity of our staff. These two Long Service Awards are testament to that. We firmly believe that people are the bedrock of any business, they are the face and the embodiment of an organisation’s culture and processes.
