All the properties on Fairhaven Housing schemes are owned by the residents.

Yes, however our developments are for people over the age of 55 who want their own front door, without the hassle of maintaining anything outside of their four walls.

Alterations to the grounds and the gardens outside your property are not permitted without seeking the correct permissions. These can be obtained via a formal request in writing to the operations manager.

Your home is your own, so you are welcome to host visitors at your convenience. Guest rooms are available at some schemes for an additional fee.

Residents are more than welcome to put care packages in place to support them at home as required.

Meals are available (for a minimal fee) at the schemes which have a community centre – Crownlee, Beacon Crossing and Candlemakers Court.

Your property is your own, so you are welcome to appoint your preferred tradesman. We work with a number of trusted suppliers and would be happy to provide you with a selection of contact details, however we must remain impartial.

There are many complexities around this area. If you have any specific requirements, we will be happy to discuss them with you on a case by case basis.

We understand that many of our residents are keen gardeners and to that end we are happy for residents to tend to small flower beds or potted plants within the immediate vicinity of their property.

Green-fingered residents are encouraged to discuss their planting scheme plans with the operations manager.

In the past Fairhaven Housing has granted permission for residents/their families to rent properties in exceptional circumstances. In each instance permission should be sought from the Association. All tenants must fulfil the same criteria as a potential purchaser and the conduct of any tenant is the responsibility of the property owner.
